		+	SKIPOGH ist eine Abkürzung für „Swiss Kidney Project on Genes in Hypertension“. Dabei soll der Zusammenhang zwischen dem Blutdruck, den Nieren und den Erbanlagen untersucht werden. Im Rahmen dieser schweizerischen Studie werden die Gene, die an der Regulation des Blutdrucks beteiligt sind, möglichst vollständig identifiziert und beschrieben. Damit der genetische Einfluss entsprechend erfasst wird, werden Umweltfaktoren wie Ernährung, Bewegung und Lebensstil mitberücksichtigt. Das Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, über den Gesundheitszustand der Bevölkerung in den Kantonen Lausanne, Genf und Bern neue Kenntnisse zu gewinnen. Dabei wird wissenschaftlich untersucht, wie stark der Blutdruck, die Nierenfunktion und die Nierengrösse sowie das Körpergewicht und andere Stoffwechselprozesse vererbbar bzw. von der Umwelt geprägt sind. SKIPOGH ist in einem Europäischen Projekt verankert, welches ebenfalls den genetischen Einfluss auf die Blutdruckregulation in der Bevölkerung untersucht (EPOGH). Dabei verwenden wir gemeinsame Protokolle, so dass ein Vergleich möglich ist.
