SKIPOGH 1

Greetings

The whole SKIPOGH team would like to warmly thank the volunteers who accepted to participate to our study.

We would like to thank as well our sponsors, primarily the Swiss National Science Foundation (SPUM), the H2020 funding tool (through the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation), the involved university hospitals and universities, the NCCR – Kidney, the NCCR- transcure , the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office FSVO, as well as private partners such as Abbvie (unrestricted grant to Dr D Fuster, Inselspital), and Vitak R&D Group (Maastricht) and also all the research groups with whom the SKIPOGH study can collaborate in highly fruitful projects.

SKIPOGH 1

In total our first study (recruitment 2009-2013) included 1’134 participants in the three centres.

Thank to a new funding of the Swiss National Science Foundation, a second study could be initiated, as a follow up to the first study.

SKIPOGH 2

The purpose is to recruit the same participants, three years after their first visit.

In October 2012, SKIPOGH 2 began. This follow up visit includes the same examination as for the first visit, coupled to additional exams including echocardiography (in Geneva and Lausanne), retinal imaging and intraocular pressure.

The recruitment for SKIPOGH 2 finished in March 2015 in Lausanne, in November 2015 in Geneva, and will continue until mid 2016 in Bern.

At the end of November 2015, 960 volunteers were seen in the three centres. The participation rate is higher than 90% for this second study!
